You never feel out of the place, and every sequence fits perfectly. The way this movie cuts between its two main timelines is exquisite. Not only does the movie have a good story and excellent acting, but it’s also a masterpiece of the craft of movie-making itself. Rang de Basanti is probably my most favourite Bollywood movie of all time. Writer: Rensil D’Silva, Prasoon Joshi, Kamlesh PandeyĬast: Aamir Khan, Siddharth, R. If you have not watched Guru before, I highly urge you to watch it. It complements the movie and doesn’t take you out of it. Guru’s music will make you smile, laugh, and cry. The final feather in the crown is the music scored by A. Madhavan, Vidya Balan, and more such talented supporting actors, and you get a gripping story performed by masterful actors and actresses. The script is tight, and the casting is perfect. Abhishek Bachhan kills it as the main character Gurukant Desai, and so does Aishwarya Rai as her wife. I enjoyed watching this movie tremendously. It showcases the rise of a villager who came to Bombay in 1958 and rose to become the most prominent industry tycoon in the country. It’s not a biography but takes a lot of inspiration from his life. The movie is loosely based on the life of Dhiru Bhai Ambani - the founder of Reliance. Guru showcases that Abhishek Bacchan is not as inept an actor as everyone thinks him to be.
